Lynne Truss hits the jackpot
We always knew Lynne Truss was one of the best and wittiest writers around. She already had three novels under her belt when she suddenly hit the jackpot in 2003 with Eats, Shoots & Leaves: The Zero Tolerance Approach to Punctuation. This became the 2003 Christmas bestseller, and has been followed by Talk to the Hand:The Utter Bloody Rudeness of the World Today. Sorry, you can't buy either of these books here. But what you can buy here is Glued to the Gogglebox which combines Lynne Truss's writing with John Minnion's caricatures.
Lynne Truss and John Minnion first worked together in 1986 at The Listener magazine, where she was the Books Editor and he illustrated the music page. Later they paired up in The Times, where John illustrated Lynne's weekly TV column. Lynne moved outdoors to cover sport for The Times and was shortlisted for 'Sportswriter of the Year' in 1997. In 1996 she was 'Columnist of the Year' for her Woman's Journal work. Some of her wittiest moments have come in the many scripts she has written - dramas, sitcoms and talks - for BBC Radio 4
